Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about pool table moving, refelting, and leveling in DFW.
General Questions
- What's the best pool table? Honest opinion. +
- Olhausen. They are American-made, backed by a lifetime warranty on the slate and frame, and hold their value better than most brands. For a home table that will last 30+ years without issues, an Olhausen 8-footer is the one we consistently recommend to customers who ask.
- Are you licensed and insured? +
- Yes. Pool Table Ninjaz is fully insured on every job — your table and your home are protected from the moment we arrive. Ask us for proof of insurance before we start; we're happy to provide it.
- What areas of DFW do you serve? +
- We serve the entire Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex — Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Allen, Garland, Irving, Arlington, and all surrounding cities across Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton, Rockwall, Kaufman, Ellis, and Johnson counties. Not sure if you're covered? Check our service areas page or give us a call.
- Do you work on all brands and sizes of pool tables? +
- Yes — we service all major brands (Brunswick, Olhausen, Diamond, Connelly, and more) and all standard sizes: 7-foot, 8-foot, and 9-foot slate tables. We also handle antique and custom tables. If you're unsure, just ask when you request your quote.
Pool Table Moving
- Do you disassemble the pool table, or do I need to before you arrive? +
- We handle all disassembly — that's part of the service. Please do not attempt to disassemble the table yourself before we arrive. Improper disassembly can crack the slate or damage the rails, and we've seen it happen. We bring all the tools needed and will have your table fully broken down, moved, and reassembled at the new location.
- Do I need to empty the pockets or remove the balls before you arrive? +
- Yes — please remove the balls, rack, cues, and any accessories before we arrive. Also clear a path from the table to the exit (and at the destination) so we can move safely. Everything else — felt, rails, slate, legs — we handle completely.
- Can you move a pool table up or down stairs? +
- Yes. Stair moves are something we do regularly throughout DFW. Let us know when you book that stairs are involved so we can bring the right crew size. Tight stairwells or landings may affect the final quote — we'll flag any access concerns when we arrive.
- Do you level the table after moving it, and do you guarantee the level? +
- Yes — every move includes a professional level at the destination. We don't consider the job done until the table plays correctly. We back this with a 30-day level guarantee: if the table isn't level within 30 days of the move, we return and reset it at no charge.
Refelting & Felt
- How do I know if my pool table needs refelting? +
- Look for these signs: worn or thin spots near the pockets or break zone, balls that curve unexpectedly or roll unevenly, a faded or pilled surface, or visible slate showing through the cloth. For home tables played a few times a week, felt typically lasts 5–7 years. If you're unsure, we can assess the cloth when we arrive.
- How long does pool table refelting take? +
- Most refelts take 2–3 hours on-site. If we're refelting at the same time as a move or leveling, the services are completed in sequence during a single visit so you're not waiting on two separate appointments.
- What type of felt should I choose — worsted or woolen? +
- Worsted cloth (like Simonis 860) has a smooth, fast surface with no nap — it's the gold standard for serious play and lasts longer. Woolen felt (like Championship Challenger) is softer, slower, and costs 40–60% less, making it a solid choice for casual home tables. We carry both and will help you choose based on how you actually use the table.
Leveling & Setup
- How do I know if my pool table isn't level? +
- The clearest sign is balls drifting consistently toward one side or corner — even on a straight shot. You can also place a marble or bubble level on the slate surface and watch for any roll. Tables that have been moved, had carpet replaced underneath, or are on floors that have settled over time are common candidates for releveling.
- What if the slate cracks or shifts during a move — what happens? +
- We are fully insured, and any damage caused by our crew is covered. We document it immediately, contact you, and work directly with our insurance to make it right — we don't hide damage. Slate damage during a professional move is rare because we disassemble properly and transport each slate piece padded and flat. But if it happens, we own it.
Pricing
- How much does it cost to move a pool table? +

We give flat quotes before we start, so there are no surprises on the day. Fill out the free quote form above and we'll give you an exact number.
- How much does pool table refelting or leveling cost? +
